Product Description

Cast-in Rail Shoulders: Prefabricated pieces in concrete sleepers, either single or double, used to secure elastic rails within a fastening system, mainly electronic fastenings. Cast iron shoulders are cast in iron, pre-embedded in concrete sleepers and used together with elastic clips to fix the rails.

Steel Rail Shoulders
Weld on Shoulder

Weld-on Shoulders: Designed for use in special trackwork locations that do not permit the use of standard tie plates. Applications include switches, scales, steel structures, and maintenance facilities. Generally used on flat steel plates, these shoulders are beveled to facilitate welding, providing optimum lateral resistance and maximum clip-toe load. They are available for all common standard rail sizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the primary function of a rail shoulder?
Rail shoulders are used to secure elastic rail clips within a fastening system. They provide lateral resistance and maintain the rail gauge by holding the rail firmly against the sleeper.
2. What is the difference between cast-in and weld-on shoulders?
Cast-in shoulders are pre-embedded directly into concrete sleepers during manufacturing. Weld-on shoulders are typically used on flat steel plates in special trackwork like switches and scales where standard plates cannot be used.
3. Which rail specifications are these shoulders compatible with?
Our shoulders are designed to fit various standard rail sizes, including 115RE, 136RE, UIC54, UIC60, 54E1, and 60E1.
4. What materials are used for the rail shoulders?
They are primarily manufactured using high-quality ductile iron, such as QT500-7, QT450-10, or QT400-15, ensuring excellent tensile strength and durability.
5. Can the rail shoulders be customized?
Yes, we offer customization services for both the design and color of the shoulders to meet specific project requirements and railway standards.
6. What is the production capacity for these products?
We have a stable production capacity of approximately 500,000 pieces per month to ensure timely delivery for large-scale railway projects.
